i will never get the people who are disappointed after reading tfota bc apparently it's lacking romance they thought would be there. like are u telling me “Kiss me, kiss me until I'm sick of it” doesn't make u giggle and kick your feet in the air? "You really do want me. And you hate it" does nothing for you? "Most of all, I hate you because I think of you. Often. It's disgusting, and I can't stop" isn't making you FERAL? and "If you're the sickness, I suppose you can't also be the cure" isn't all peak romance. AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THOSE DAMN LETTERS

In mine and many other east Asian cultures, the dragon traditionally symbolises things like power, wealth and strength (imperial symbol and all)

I think we often forget that in the story of the Great Race, the dragon came in fifth because it'd stopped to give people rain. Then it'd stopped again to push a rabbit adrift on a log across the wide river so it reached the shore safely (that's why the Rabbit year comes before the Dragon).

Dragons aren't meant to just be powerful - they are meant to do good with such power, and to help those in need.

So in this lunar new year, I hope you gain more power, so that you might be able to help others. I pray you have abundant resources so you may give to yourself and those around you. I wish you courage, endurance, kindness and generosity, for yourself and your people.

I hope you, and I, will be rain givers, life preservers, joy bringers.

I hope we will be dragons.

Character Development Qs

I'm writing a character who thinks her partner is cheating. I'm trying to come up with the list of reasons one would think their partner is cheating.

The usual suspects outside of straight up seeing them out with another person or messages or full-on evidence, kind of eludes me.

Some people I know say their partners acted completely differently (colder, crueler, etc.). Some say they were extra nice. I understand it might be different across the board, but I just want some real-world ideas behind this.

I apologize if this upsets anyone, but how did you/your friend/family, etc. KNOW? What tipped you/them off?
