Sleep Withers Away

Sleep withers away

Each new day, in

Such a special way

One that makes me say

I may survive today...

No Way

Happy 4/20, Folks! Today Is The Day!

Happy 4/20, folks! Today is the day!

My first poetry book, Twenty: A Line a Day, is now available on Amazon Kindle or Paperback!!

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B092P6ZM8F

Experience the ridiculous antics of my 20-year-old self through one line of poetry written every day for an entire year!

Each line peaks into the ups and downs, excitements and heartbreaks, trials, and tribulations that come with barging headfirst into your 20s.

Any reviews (especially on Amazon!) or points of constructive criticism are greatly appreciated and more than welcome!

This is just the beginning, folks! It can only get better from here!

Anna Magee is Making Art & Writing Poetry
I'm Anna Magee, a sprouting backyard artist trying to get my art and poetry off the ground and into the world! By supporting me you're not only buying ME a coffee,...

Hey guys! I hope this post finds you all safe, warm, and healthy!

If any of my wonderful followers are feeling a little extra generous today, here is a link to my Buy Me A Coffee account, where not only can you support me and make my entire week, but you can also submit commissions on my artwork or poetry!

Don’t have enough in the bank to buy yourself a coffee, let alone a stranger? I completely understand, you and me both, kid! Give this post a reblog, it’s free! (and almost the same thing!)

Whether you donate or reblog, I can’t thank you enough! People like you are the reason the world keeps spinning!

Untitled (5:30PM)

It was 5:30 pm and you were laughing as the

Breeze was knocking my hair all around me

The smell of the beach stuck under

Our noses

I glanced at you and could help

But to smile

That's when I knew

I could glance at you for

The rest of my life

Picture of a Fourth of July sparkler held in someone's hand. The poem to the right of the sparkler is titled, "Independence Day" by A.M. Watson (@artsymagee).

The poem:

Yet another American holiday that has been
Boiled down until the alcohol has evaporated
Leaving nothing in the pot but white residue
We don’t have a clue how it affects the Indigenous
As we cram the porcelain slop down their throats
In an attempt to bleach them and uproot them.
Red, white and blue scream into whiteish, blue faces
Filling them up like noxious balloons, set to
Pop off on anyone who doesn’t agree with you.
We celebrate freedom from a country we have
Easily become the mirror image of, giving us
Nothing to celebrate but hypocrisy, and honestly,
A massively corpulent American lie.
