Another scene from Baby Savior AU
This is why Charlie thinks they're married in the future. She forgets this wasn't a real Wedding, she's like 10(~100) here, and a Lot of time passes so she doesn't remember the questionable legitimacy of the ceremony. A ceremony carried out in casual clothes on the floor of the living room.
Adam Only Agreed to make Charlie happy. He's not taking any of this seriously (even if he does get a little flustered at the kiss). He knows not to put any hope into this being anything close to real. He'd look like an idiot if he let himself for a moment think this meant anything.
Luci is trying Real Hard to not take it seriously because by this point Adam's been with them for like 40 years and it just gets harder to keep his thoughts and feelings to himself. He knows he wants it to mean something, but Adam turns away from him immediately after, there's no point in thinking anything would come from this.
They're both dumb and gay but won't say anything for another century+
sometimes i feel like people forget autism is a disability. and that’s not a bad thing! i’m all for disability acceptance, im proud of my disabilities. but i feel like we forget autism can hurt.
it hurts that i have to put more time and energy into socializing than others.
it hurts when i need to move so bad, usually cause im overwhelmed by either my surroundings or emotions, that i thrash and hurt myself.
it hurts that i cant be in places that are too loud or too bright, which on bad days can be as simple as a small, quiet noise or dim lights.
it hurts that i struggle to tell when im hungry, thirsty, tired, etc. so i can’t properly take care of myself. it doesn’t help my insomnia and i get very nauseas and get UTIs.
i 100% believe in autism acceptance. i don’t want a cure. but i also want us the acknowledge that it can hurt. it doesn’t mean my entire life will hurt, but some parts will. and i want a community where we can see both sides, see the hurt, and celebrate it anyway.
People who think that ableism against mentally disabled people either isn't real or is "mild" have never been...
- restrained and yelled at during a meltdown
- denied the ability to transition because people won't let them make choices about their own bodies (and then have that issue get completely ignored by neurotypical trans people)
- abused by their own parents for behaving in ways that look weird or rude even though they can't help it
- sent to an underfunded and often neglectful special ed school so their neurotypical peers don't have to see or deal with them
- forced to constantly focus on acting in a way that feels unnatural and stressful to them in order to mask their disability and avoid further abuse
- physically assaulted for things like "acting crazy," having hallucinations, taking medication that neurotypical people think is scary, etc.
- denied accomodations at school or work because people decided they're so stupid they're not worth the effort
- locked up in a psych ward against their will
- unable to shower, shop for groceries, or other basic care needs because of overstimulation, executive dysfunction, and other mental health issues.
- treated like subhuman because they have an intellectual or developmental disability and need people to take care of them 24/7
... And it shows.
Mental disability is not fucking Disability Lite. If you think that the only ableism we face is occasionally being called a mean word, you're part of the problem. We have every right to be angry about the way we're treated.
And no disabled people, whether mentally or physically disabled, should have to be all smiley and positive just to make the people who constantly abuse us comfortable.

"Now, what exactly is 'The Marvelous Mechanical Harlequin' AU?"
Well I'm glad you asked! The Marvelous Mechanical Harlequin, or "Harlequin AU" for short, is a grimdark sci-fantasy story about "Puppets", whom are soul-infused robots, trying to regain their lost humanity in a broken world.
It follows Pomni, a short-tempered Combat Harlequin, as she explores the city of Circuits with the aid of Caine, The Puppetmaster.
However, as the story progresses, Pomni not only realizes that there's more to the grand scheme of things as she explores more and more, she also uncovers The Puppetmaster's story, and what secrets he may be hiding.
"How do the boss fights go down in the story?"
Action-packed, fast paced, involves a lot of dying on Pomni's part.
Even though this is inspired by a Souls-like, the boss fights go down more so like a mixture between Cuphead, Shadow of the Colossus, and God of War (2018/Raganarok). Mostly God of War.
"Are there going to be canon ships in this AU?"
Yes! The AU is very Showtime (Caine x Pomni) centric, and some of the story aspects of the AU are heavily surrounded on that. There is a bit of Jesterdoll (Pomni x Ragatha) in it, too.
Aside from these canon ships, all is fair game. The Puppets don't have ages seeing as to how they are robots (and were already adults prior to their conversion), so the possibilities are endless.
"Can I make fanarts/fanfics/make original content for your AU?"
Why, of course you can! In fact, I would REALLY love to see it, as long as it complies with my personal boundaries below. So don't be afraid to tag this blog, or @iamespecter in your posts if you want me to see it!
"What are the boundaries of the AU?"
Go wild! The AU's rating is pretty mature, if it wasn't obvious already for it's grimdark genre.
However... I would like to ask that if you would like to make something dark even for my standards for this AU (i.e non-con or dark kinks), all I ask is that you don't show it to me. I personally do not like it, and do not vibe with it.
"What are your thoughts about NSFW surrounding the AU?"
Suggestive content and NSFW is allowed! I am an adult, and I personally enjoy them. (I think I'll make a blog for the more... spicy things.)
Even I make suggestive content for this AU.
HOWEVER! Please tag it properly with "cw suggestive", "tw suggestive", "tw nsft" and various other tags for people who do not wish to see them, or are minors. I can't keep track of everything try as I might, so it'll be up to you to be a decent person, which I know you will be.
"I don't like showtime, but I find your AU interesting. Will that be a problem?"
For you, it might be. The story leans heavily around Pomni and Caine's relationship as a whole, and I'm sorry. I'm just really soft about them.
"Will this be anything like the original TADC?"
Yesss...? And no...? It takes a lot of creative liberty and inspirations from various medias.
In the meantime, I hope you had a fun read nonetheless! Things will get updated overtime. - Ziku/IAmESpecter
the idea of public restrooms as "women's spaces" continues to confound me. you know who I hope is in a public bathroom when I go in?? no one. I would prefer no one else be in the bathroom. and if someone else is in the bathroom I am going to ignore them as much as possible. I did not go into the bathroom to connect with other women. I went into the bathroom to piss and/or shit. it's a toilet's space, not a women's space. shut the fuck up and let trans people piss and shit in peace. let's all continue to avoid eye contact with each other and any and all interaction in the toilet's space.
Make pride accessible for everyone!!!!
I made a post about this last year and the year before, and thought if I did it this way it gives people and orgs something to work towards. Often people forget that disabled people aren't just wheelchair users, and even those who are, need more than just that ramp!
My first ever pride, not only as a wheelchair but my first ever EVER pride, I went in expecting to feel at home.
Obviously I wasn't, I'm disabled, so why should I?
Instead there was just a ridiculous amount of uneven flooring, a steep ramp to the disabled toilet, no sanitary towel bin in the disabled toilet (???) no allowances to be let out of the festival to fetch things from my car, no where quiet and organisers who seemed genuinely surprised to see a wheelchair user!
My next pride, three years later, I was a seller, and while they had sorted their toilet problem (still no sanitary towel bin???), the hill to get in wouod have been genuinely impossible for me to get to if I hadn't been driving to get my stall in anyway, even with someone pushing me, no quiet areas, plenty of kerbs for me to get stuck at and again, genuine surprise.
Why is it so surprising to consider disabled people might be at pride? Not only do queer disabled people exist, but parents and family of queer kids and people, vendors and even entertainers!
Making pride accessible is crucial!
