Hmm actually Lucy Gray is different from Haymitch and Katniss and Peeta because her tragedy is she caused the games to continue. If the games hadn't become entertaining, they wouldn't have continued and she made it entertaining because she was an entertainer - she saved herself but she doomed dozens more because she performed too well and it allowed the Capitol to make the games a performance in the later years. Haymitch's tragedy is that he couldn't end the games, Lucy Gray's is that she continued them.
Headcanon 1: Tim Drake writes fanfics that get really popular, many involving the Batfamily, some superbat
Headcanon 2: Duke Thomas used to write superbat fanfic but eventually lost the time and became a beta reader for some others
Headcanon 3: Tim wrote a superbat fanfic that Duke was a beta reader of, and they only learned later
Headcanon 3.5: Jason has read this fanfic and adores this fanfic for how well it is written and how entertaining and accurate it is
Jason what does this mean?
You know, I was searching the web for Na'vi hair styles for my Alma fic i have going for inspiration but than i found more than expectation so...
it seems right to fill the Frointers of Pandora tag with these beauties.
The author links are below to check out and such and please do if you haven't already; it's a must for BTS stuff of the game.
So'lek!! bc you don't see much with his chest gear on! Hot.
Eetu for you thirsty birds
Alma!!! my fav character. Again, you don't see skin around her neck bc she has that neck scalf Did you see the scar on her right cheek under her eye? Where did that come from?
Also, what colour would you call her eyes? I'd say brown but there's an odd contract to them. Were they going for a light brown?
Here's some Colonel Harding with all her scars. Kinda hot, even if she's a horrible person. This under-the-collar stuff is kinda useful for my fics tho š
Also, i really like her eyes! Such a dark blue which you don't see as often on poc characters. Maybe it's a recessive gene that's active in her character's Lore?
Honestly, i'm glad to see more of Nesim's neck bc it's hard when trying to do any art with her, finding the proportions of her neck with her Zeswa collared chest guard... painful.
Also... she's stunning! Minang too!
You know, I hate Nor's headpiece with a severe passion. I personally don't think it suits him; far too big. If it was smaller, it'd be fine but it covers up most of his head. Plus, he's not a clan leader so it's odd.
So i threw that in so you see what Nor looks like without that decor!

ā¦and Thorin Oakenshield will pass into legend.
The most common comparison thatās been going around lately has been between the names of hobbits belonging to the Baggins family and the Took family. There is quite a distinct difference between the names, so itās understandable that it seems a bit jarring to go from something simple like, say, Longo to something more noble-sounding like Isengrim.
In comparison, the names given to girls are very different. True, there are a few more nonsensical ones, like Belba. But there are also plenty of flower- or gem-names. This also gives a very odd contrast between the names of male hobbits and those of female hobbits.
However, there is a bit of reasoning behind the names, at least those belonging to hobbits from families with Fallohide blood. Those are not taken out of thin air. They were oftentimes given names evoking figures of legend (whether this means figures of legend in our world or in Middle-earth is hard to say, but itās certainly not mistaken either way).

This list is for anyone who needs references as to which named NPC's attend the MC's classes in fifth year.
I watched back all of the cutscenes, so I've made it as detailed as possible. But if I've forgotten anyone, please let me know and I'll update the list!

god i really fucking love the dĆŗnedain, particularly the rangers. just as like. a concept. a people. an actual part of the story.
they defend the shire, without the hobbits knowing, because they're doing what they can to keep it untouched by evil and the world at large. they sing and they love dancing and theyre all Tall. theyre almost all that is left of nĆŗmenor. they do not seek payment for what they do--their cause is singular, and that is to fight against the very evil that brought their people to middle earth in the first place. they're often strange and they're certainly offputting to those who do not know them but in all we see of them, they clearly have close connections with one another. they can live for over a hundred years. they absolutely crash in rivendell half the time. their leader is playing a lead role in beren and luthien part 2.
god just. the rangers!!!
idk just reading every moment wyatt was mentioned and how he was slowly just uncovered to be just a smart boy from a rotten family :( its so very i bet on losing dogs and i want to cry
I LOVE the version of Lucius in your fic Prison of the Phoenix. He's different from a lot of portrayals I've seen. Why did you decide to write him how you did?
A lot of the fun of writing a book-accurate fix-it fic comes from taking the events of the book, and removing JKRs (simplistic, misleading, sometimes just weird) narrative framing. Slytherins = baddies, Gryffindors = goodies, you know.Ā
This is especially fun with Lucius Malfoy, who just like⦠isnāt very evil? Chamber of Secrets is his most villainous book, and Iāll get to that, but otherwise? He tries (unsuccessfully) to get the animal that attacked his kid killed. He donates to hospitals (but in like, an evil way.) He is a hilariously incompetent Death Eater, and then he's Voldemortās punching bag.Ā
Thatās kind of the point of Lucius. He looks the part. He commits to the aesthetics of the thing, with the hair and the peacocks and the snake-wand-cane. He likes the mystique of walking into a room and knowing that you know (but canāt prove) heās a dark wizard. It allows him to be⦠kinda lazy. He can coast on his family name, money, reputation, privilege. I really think that if you sat Lucius Malfoy down and asked him to walk you through all the wizard-supremacy talking points he wouldnāt be able to do it. Heāll toss around words like āmudbloodā and āmudblood-loverā no problem, but in the end he doesnāt really care. Lucius is not a true believer. The way the world is set up benefits him tremendously and he doesnāt want Voldemort back. Thatās just text:
āUse your brains, Ron,ā said Bill. āIf they really were Death Eaters⦠I bet theyād be even more frightened than the rest of us to see him come back. They denied theyād ever been involved with him when he lost his powers, and went back to their daily lives⦠I donāt reckon heād be over-pleased with them, do you?ā
Lucius and friends had too much to drink at a sporting event, put on the old outfits (again with the aesthetics) and started levitating muggles. Which obviously isnāt GOOD, but theyāre not killing or torturing, or furthering any kind of agenda. Itās important that Barty is so insulted and pissed off by the way theyāre basically playing Dark Wizard that he casts the Dark Mark to āshow [them] what loyalty to the Dark Lord meant, and to punish them for their lack of it.ā Which kicks off most of the events of the book.Ā
Prison of the Phoenix is going to have a companion, parallel fic told from Harryās POV (tentatively titled Harry Potter and Malfoyās Suspicious Interest in Werewolves.) Lucius does show up in that one, and I was honestly surprised by how much more frightening and intimidating he is when filtered through Harryās perspective. Because with a Severus POV⦠when Severus is used to spending time around Voldemort, Greyback, Bellatrix, honestly Dumbledore and Sirius Blackā¦. Lucius is not scary. Lucius wants to buy presents for his son, go to high-profile events with his beautiful wife, and wear a variety of snake-themed accessories and extravagant hats.Ā
I wanted a kind of college-roommates-who-stayed-friends feel for the Severus + Lucius relationship, because they are friends. Sirius calls Severus Luciusā ālapdog,ā and Narcissa calls him Luciusā āoldest friend.ā Lucius is also part of the welcoming committee when Severus is first sorted into Slytherin. Heās five years older (I think Jason Isaacs is the only Harry Potter adult the same age as the character he plays), which would have affected the dynamic between him and Severus a lot in school. Personally, I think it makes sense for Lucius to be a little protective of this brilliant half-blood kid with no money. And as an adult, thereās some guilt mixed in there as well. Severus probably would not have been sucked into the Voldemort thing nearly as deep or nearly as fast if it hadnāt been for Lucius, and the war kind of destroyed him. Lucius remembers a younger Severus who was modding potions, inventing spells, coming up with cheeky nicknames for himself, and that person is gone. Thatās a big part of the reason heās so invested in the Severus/Remus relationship in Prison of the Phoenix. Something about Remus has managed to wake up parts of that younger Severus, and Lucius thinks thatās fantastic.
I also think Lucius might be the character who knows Voldemort the best. Heās one of the only Death Eaters who Voldemort calls by their first name (Bellatrix, Severus, and Draco are the others) and heās weirdly familiar with his āslippery friendā Lucius, addressing the whole speech about how/why he returned to him, for some reason? Anything that helps Voldemort make sense as a person Iāll take, and to me it makes sense that young Tom Riddle charmed Abraxas Malfoy, Luciusā father, first. The dates are right, and heās exactly Tomās type - rich, pureblood, probably easily flattered (letās be honest) and sitting on a pile of magical artifacts. Itās very Hepzibah Smith vibes, is what Iām saying. And rich, posh, popular seventeen year olds donāt join cults. But if Luciusā father was already in a cultā¦Ā
It also makes sense to me that Tom Riddle got sort of stuck when he killed Marvolo Gaunt, and made his first horcrux at sixteen. He has this fascination with sixteen year old pureblood wizards (so Barty, Draco, and Lucius would have fit this profile.) He sort of wants to be them, but also sort of wants to break them? Itās messy, and complicated. Itās creepy and compelling, that Lucius is aging but this spectre thatās dominated his life isnāt.Ā
And so when Lucius gives Ginny the diary in Book 2⦠it makes sense that heās just trying to get rid of it. He was just at Borgin and Burkes selling dark artifacts, but knows that the diary is worse. He needs to make sure it canāt possibly be traced back to him. So he gives it to the daughter of the head of the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts office. (It is an enchanted muggle artifact, after all.) If Arthur Weasley finds it and deals with it, fine. If Ginny is discovered with it in a way that blows up in Arthurās face, also fine. If it does get to Hogwarts and does open the Chamber of Secrets - well Draco is going to be fine, and it might undermine Dumbledore. If it was really important to Lucius that the diary rid the school of muggleborns⦠he would have given it to Draco and had him use it. Or given it to Draco, and told him to leave it somewhere for an enemy to find. But Lucius doesnāt do that, because he doesnāt want Voldemort back and his politics just arenāt that important to him.Ā
The one trait I did give Lucius is being an unrepentant wife guy. (And I mean⦠it doesnāt contradict anything. There isnāt anything in the books to suggest that he isnāt a wife guy.)Ā EDIT: I cannot believe I forgot the little "it's going to be okay" wrist squeeze Narcissa gives him right before he passes Voldemort his wand. This meta does a fantastic job getting into who Narcissa is, and I am officially justified in writing them just as googly-eyes about each other as I want. Also going full Gomez and Mortica makes them a better foil for the Weasleys, and the (not typically on the same page) Arthur and Molly.
you can say what you want about Derek Hale but at the end of the day, when Stiles introduced him as his cousin Miguel, Derek still "yes and"ed him. A girlie would have written that in a fanfic and people would've said it was out of character. The children (Derek) crave shenanigans and tomfoolery, remember that.
