The Shuro hate because of the latest episode is pouring in and I cannot even begin to tell you how upsetting it is to see someone who is so much like me be berated by people for being so called "ableist" and "misogynistic" and simply "the worst". He is a product of his environment (a different country, which means a different culture), and sure his love for Falin may be one-sided, but it is still love, and it's love enough he's risking hunger and sleeplessness and self care to find her. Even Chilchuck pointed out that him proposing spontaneously is just something people in his country do. He is not shallow with his love. The same can be seen with his frustration with Laios. It's borned out of miscommunication and cultural differences, and it is clear, very clear, at the end of the episode that he cares deeply for both Laios and Falin. He's envious of Laios's personable and straightforward nature, and he admitted to it. He gave Laios a way out (via the magic bell) and promised to give him his aid when Laios is in trouble. He is a complex and well-written character, and he deserves more than just people shallowly trashing on him.
Also Shuro is also autistic to me but in a different way Laios is ✌️ Come on: hyperfocusing at the cost of your health? Relying on social cues to predict how people think? Too awkward to correct Laios from the fact that he's been saying his name wrong the entire time (his real name is Toshiro)?
Edit: Honestly? Genuinely? I also think a lot of the hate that Shuro receives also borderlines antagonistic because he's "getting in the way of Farcille" (he has not shown any creepy attitude towards Falin) and racist. Genuinely I think a lot of American/Western fans are super racist towards Shuro. He's angry at Laios's mistakes the same way Chilchuck and Namari do (overstepping boundaries, being ignorant of cues, etc) but nobody thinks twice about giving Chilchuck and Namari the pass. How come this repressed man from the equivalent of fucking Feudal Japan gets the boot? Is it because he fought Laios out of fear and the trauma of seeing his team die and his love interest be made into a monster thanks to dark magic? Does his apology and offer to help not count? You people are hypocrites.

I will not be finishing this document as it causes me terrible anxiety to have to rummage through old dms and have the burden of needing to create this document. I made this doc about a year or two ago but ended up scrapping everything to make it cleaner and provide victim statements instead of just images. Here are some facts about the aspec community whereas if you struggle to grasp or comprehend them, you probably still have some amatonormativity / allonormativity to unlearn:
Asexual people can have and desire romantic relationships even if sex is off the table for them.
Some asexual people like sexual content in fiction but not in real life.
There's a difference between an aroallo person and a non-committal cishet. No your cheating ex boyfriend who only cares about sex isn't automatically aromantic.
Being aroallo is not synonymous with a high libido.
Queerplatonic relationships can look exactly like an allonormative romantic relationship and not be one because things like kissing etc. aren't inherently romantic.
Asexual people can wear and like clothing that is revealing or commonly regarded as sexual without it meaning that they desire sex.
NOTHING but literal intercourse is inherently sexual. Kissing isn't inherently sexual. Not even french-kissing or making out. Neck kisses aren't inherently sexual. Flirting isn't inherently sexual. Hell, I only found out like two weeks ago that some people, even in the ace community, consider these things to be inherently sexual.
No form of affection is inherently romantic either. Kissing isn't inherently romantic. Hand-holding isn't inherently romantic. Cuddling isn't inherently romantic. Even all of these things in combination aren't automatically indicative of a romantic relationship.
You define whether something is sexual or romantic to YOU. This does not mean it is to everyone else.
Some aspecs just don't want a partner at all
Some aspecs aren't aromantic but don't mind not having a partner either.
A QPR isn't the only other option aside from platonic or romantic relationships. A QPR also isn't romance lite or the aro version of a romantic relationship.
Being demisexual or gray ace doesn't automatically make someone sex-favorable
Frayromantic people feel romantic attraction until they develop a close bond with the person. The romantic attraction fading does NOT necessarily mean they care about that person less or don't desire a committed relationship with them because relationships and attraction isn't hierarchical.
Some people don't want to engage with sexual content at all.
If you read these and you realize these never occurred to you or that you have been assuming some things, that's not a judgement of you. We all have internalized allonormativity and amatonormativity. It just means there's work to do.

Quick reminder that you don't need a solid sexuality! You can just be in love! Or not be in love! Or have a gender! Labels are a choice, not a requirement. All you need to do is be someone you like being! If labels help with that, great! But they are not required. You don't owe it to anyone, so don't feel pressured to choose labels if they aren't your thing!

On the third day of pride, I just want to remind you that it is not shameful to be in the closet. Not this month. Not any month.
It’s shameful that people have scared you with their words and actions to the point that you need to hide who you are.
It’s shameful that people are outed against their will by people who they trust. It’s shameful that people are outed by strangers who are just assholes. It’s shameful that people are forced to come out because they’re manipulated by people who can’t respect boundaries.
The closet is stressful and tiring and can feel suffocating and alienating. I don’t know of a single queer who has enjoyed the experience of being closeted.
But it’s not shameful to protect yourself. it’s not shameful to make the best decisions for you that keep you safe until you can find a better, more open, more joyous place.
And you can still have joy in the closet. You are as queer in that closet as you are outside of it, and I’d rather you stay safe in it until it’s safe for you outside of it.
To all my closeted queers: I love you. I see you. Pride is for you, too.
Really hate that the queer community's response to the creation of a gender trinary (girl, boy, and nonbinary, which is still not all-encompassing) was to... reinvent the binary. We just started grouping all genders into "masc/male-aligned" and "fem/female-aligned" and it's so fucking stupid. Even with the occasional allowance of "neutral/unaligned" it still maintains the binary as the standard. And then they don't let you use certain labels if you don't have the "right" gender alignment. The fuck.
