Yeah, I was looking for that one story online for my mom, and then I saw one of the search options was an EXO HunHan fanfic, in Vietnamese...

When English isn’t your first language, reading fanfics in your first language (if there are even any) becomes so much more embarrassing???? And sometimes I wonder why native English speakers don’t get that feeling when they are reading in their native language???

Honestly, this issue had been going on ever since K-pop existed! There are a lot of girl groups that are super talented and need more recognition than what they have right now. Do these girl groups need to get backlashes because they are girls and "all they do is aegyo", or they are objectifying themselves for doing the sexy concepts?

THAT IS DELIBERATE SEXISM!!!

There are many girl groups who have done badass and heavy concepts (besides 2NE1 and 4Minute) like EvoL, Lip Service and The Ark but you guys are sleeping on them! It is not their fault if they are super underrated or have disbanded. You, the fan have chosen to be ignorant about them and be like the most sexist person from the 1940s.

Because they are from Korea, society tells these girls that they need to be cute and innocent (like most girl groups) so that guys are willing to date them. Society tells guys that they need to be strong and protective of their girls (like most boy groups) so the girls can be more dependent on the guys. If girl groups decide to go for the badass concept, you have two reactions. If they are from a well-known company, they may generally be liked by fans (especially the international fans). If they're from a much smaller company, others are going to backlash them for not conforming to the expectations of women.

Not to mention the K-pop fan base mostly consist of girls, so there would be more guys dominating the K-pop scene. There is this natural aspect that the girls would be attracted to guys (unless if you are lesbian, bisexual or whatever you identify yourself as)

Now, I'm more inclined to boy groups rather than girl groups (although I do like girl group music, but I do hope that girl groups are just as successful as boy groups. Girls' Generation had done very well, so had 2NE1 and Wonder Girls back in the day, so there is a hope for girl groups to be as successful.
