Anime/Manga Writers: Why don’t the fans like the canon straight couple instead of the non-canon gay ships?

MC looking at their rival/best friend/partner: They’re like the sun, brilliantly blinding and all-consumingly powerful. There’s a deadly beauty and grace to every action they take. They’re the other half of me that I never thought could exist, the one person who pushes me to be my best self, and life without them would not be worth living. There’s nothing in this world that they could not accomplish and I am but a fool chasing after them in hopes of reaching their level. Even then, having them in front of me/by my side has pushed me to heights I never thought imaginable.

Zoisite Takes No Shit
I love Zoisite in Crystal SO MUCH. I can’t wait to see the shitennou interacting with each other more.
I know that Kunzite/Zoisite isn’t going to be a thing in Crystal and I mourn that, but I’m trying to accept it. Still, you will pry this headcanon from my cold dead hands: They still tend to lounge around together when not on missions and talk shit about everyone else. They’re on fairly good terms with Jadeite and Nephrite, they still have those bonds between them, they’re upset when they get hurt, but they also are just totally dicks to everyone else together. They even turn practically as one to glance over at Nephrite begging for another chance with these amazing skeptical looks on their face. KUNZITE AND ZOISITE: HANGING OUT TOGETHER TO BE DICKS TO EVERYONE ELSE IN THE DARK KINGDOM. YOU CANNOT PRY IT FROM ME.
