fun fact time for you on this sunday. for some reason, natasha is always cold, and, more often than not, will hide under a blanket when she has the time. that means, for the people she's in a relationship with, she'll cuddle on the couch or in the bed and will find a way to shove her toes under her partner's legs to help keep them warm.

she knew what it was like... to be a child carrying so much resentment that it festered to the point of no return. for that reason, the moment she'd seen ana, natasha had been careful to not make too much eye contact. beyond the fact of not making her feel uncomfortable, she also wanted to ensure that she didn't draw more attention that she knew ana didn't want. a few minutes had passed before she nodded her head, "how's it going, kid?"

she's intrigued by the thought of people living their lives after she'd been on vacation... (what else did you call it when you faux die for a stone to help save the universe?) and she has to wonder if that's what it was like for the people who were blipped. she's heard that it was like no time had passed but everything around you was different. natasha would call her time from vormir to the time she was back on earth similar. like she'd been there one second and the next she was home but it seemed everything had changed. listening to everyone else share their stories helps her forget that she's not supposed to be here. it alleviates from some of the constant anxiety that she's constantly radiating. she listens intently to james share his story, chin supported by her hand as she sits legs crossed in the seat across from him. "so where's sam now? i mean, what's next?"

"do you choose to linger in the dark shadows for dramatic effect because i've got to be honest with you, i've known you were following me for about three blocks now." natasha shrugs as the words leave her mouth, choosing now to turn and look at the other. "wouldn't it be easier to just tell me what you need instead of this whole lurking and brooding nonsense?"

"actions have consequences, lang, and truth be told i don't know how you expected any of this—" her hands are in the air, gesturing to their surroundings with a look that screams annoyance. "—to turn out any differently." the scolding likely wasn't going to help either one of them, but it was enough to help her relieve some of the stress as she finally releases the tension as her shoulders slump. now taking the time to look around at their surroundings, already problem solving the best solution.

"that's not fair."
it's difficult when one of you is hiding out from the world, unready to admit that they're out there, and the other is a well-known avenger. natasha had always been easy to pick out of a crowd with her stunning red hair, but recently, it had been even more of a tell since she'd help save the world the day the sky had fallen open in new york. she wanted to see jane, she wanted to respect the fact that the other wasn't ready to see steve and that she didn't trust what was left of SHIELD. not to mention it was tricky when HYDRA was still out there hunting for their most prized possession. but she'd never expected it to be this difficult.
natasha had been walking on egg shells, keeping her opinions to herself, unwilling to talk for more than a few sentences here or there. beyond that, everytime she showed up, jane had to be prepared to move because it was only a matter of time until the black widow drew media attention for visiting the town jane was so desperate to hide in. it was why natasha had suggested that she stop showing up for a bit... to give jane her best chance at figuring out herself and what she wanted without the theatrics that natasha brought.
"what do you want me to say? i've done the whole on-the-run nonsense you're trying right now; if i keep showing up, you're going to keep risking being exposed. my presence is more of a hindrance to you right now."

"goodbye?" she let's out a twinkle of a laugh that matches some of the mischief in her eyes. "come on now, rogers, don't tell me that you're going all soft on me." a gentle elbow is given to his side as she says it, knowing that as much as she wished she could joke her way through this, it wasn't that easy. "i know it's not the perfect solution, but we both know it's safer and more effective if we split up."

leaning against the counter in the kitchen like it's the only thing that's keeping her standing there's nothing between them but silence. it's a calm silence she lets embrace her like an old friend. there are several seconds that pass before a sigh escapes her lips as though the thought of speaking is literal torture. natasha's patient as she speaks, ensuring with each word that she's composed and put together, a stark contrast to the feelings that she has on the inside. "you've got to be fucking kidding me." alright, maybe she wasn't as composed as she wanted to appear.

auntie nat content. — this is basically the whole bulletin. auntie nat content is the best content and i will forever love it.
red room into kbg things. — young natasha things before SHIELD, aka threads that will hit right in the feels.
assistant natalie rushman. — this can be during the iron man setting or maybe her going back to work as pepper’s assistant after iron man. she could be undercover or it could be after the fall of SHIELD. i am open to all of the things.
general undercover things. - natasha on missions in places where she might run into people she wouldn't normally.
looking into her roots. — nat wanting to learn more about where she comes from in an attempt to learn more about herself. yes, thank you. it could be during the fall of SHIELD or after Black Widow?
on the run. — natasha on the run after civil war trying to help her friends stay undercover, either before or after black widow timeline. plus we can always have nat visiting people that she shouldn't while she's on the run.
during the five years. — natasha running the avengers compound was always a storyline that grabbed my attention. she needs the purpose in doing that to feel like she’s not completely losing control. but also, her helping the children who lost their parents after the snap.
natasha being snapped. — give me an AU where nat was the one of the people snapped and her having to deal with the aftermath of coming back five years later.
natasha training. — it could be new members of the avengers team or her working with the young avengers. i am open to all of the things.
post-endgame things. — a) this blog follows the ‘return the soul and get the soul back’ for the ease of the mun and i’d love to explore her coming to peace with the fact that she did die, people mourned her but now she’s back. b) nat never died, clint did, or give me an au where someone else went with her to vormir and they did. both of these options will have lots of angst.
family things. — nat with her found family, nat with yelena, nat with adopted children, give me all of the feels.
retirement. — nat retired but for some reason no one else can get that she keeps finding herself being dragged in for whatever reason.
natasha living a normal life. — a) nat actually being happy and living a normal life where she was raise by her parents and instead she’s just a regular old person who found her way to new york for work. b) undercover normal life where she is doing things for SHIELD.
memory loss natasha. — better known as getting to play threads as natalia who loses her memory for whatever reason and has no trust for anyone in her life.
