YAS I freakin’ love it you’re welcome, anon. also, solo ver. on instagram
skadfjgldslsfggfdalsdmfkldlk yeah i just wrote that title but i’m SORRY i JUST NEED TO GET THIS OFF MY CHEST
so okay kagepro has been my main interest for like 5 years now and despite that i could never really… name what bothered me about shintaro? like there’s always been Something that made me super iffy about him and fjkdgdjfdkls WELP THIS IS THE CONCLUSION I CAME TO
SO UM disclaimer im nOT hating on shintaro. it’s mostly a hate letter to jin because at the end of the day, shintaro is jin’s accidental self insert. jin might be a talented song writer and musician, and i mean he’s good at writing to a degree since he managed to keep so many people interested in his story despite how confusing and complicated it is but……. he’s made some shitty Questionable decisions in some stuff. shintaro’s entire personality being one of those decisions. so, yeah.
if anything this is just me being like SHINTARO DESERVES A REDEMPTION ARC which will never happen because you know…..jin
anyway, i hope the keep reading works in mobile and if it doesn’t im truly sorry, i tried:

FF Versus XIII: Our title track is 'Somnus', meaning 'sleep'. It represents how our protagonist has prophetic dreams, and starts to lose the ability to tell the difference between what he sees when he's asleep and what's real when he's awake.
FFXV: Our title track is 'Somnus'. Our protagonist sleeps all the time because he's depressed.
Do you remember hanafuda merchandise of Kagerou Project back then? In case you don’t know which one is it, then here the picture
At first, it’s like Sidu simply put the character in the card. But in fact, there’s some sort of symbolism there
Here are the symbolism in hanafuda card (based on my research, mainly from here and here) and it’s relevance to Kagepro:
1. January
Mutsuki: affection month
January - Matsu 松 - Pine
“January is represented by the tsuru (crane) and the matsu (pine). Both are symbols of long life and good luck. The pine tree is known to live for centuries, and never sheds its leaves. No matter how cold the winter, the pine tree stays green and alive.”
“The month of January is indicated by a Japanese umbrella pine (koyamaki), an evergreen which is one of Japan’s five sacred trees.”
“Legends associated with the trees include the belief that the women who touch the wood will conceive healthy offspring. In some parts of Japan, people set branches of the tree on the graves of their loved ones in order to lead the spirits back to the land of the living.”
Sounds interesting? It’s widely known about Paper Crane symbolism in Shintaro and Ayano’s story. Also, the mention “in order to lead the spirit back to the land of the living” is the same with Shintaro’s desire to have his loved one back to living, and well, it’s happen
After all, the fact that the month is called “Affection month” has correlation with this frame in Children Record Reboot:
Although the quick translation means “Emotion”, but the other meaning of the word is “Affection”
“’A crane gracefully crosses the sky before the glowing red orb of the rising sun on New Year’s Day. An aged pine, pruned as carefully as a bonsai tree, complements the symbolic association of cranes with longevity’.” “The bright card shows a Japanese red-crowned crane (tanchōzuru) in front of a red sun”
“The Red-crowned Cranes are sacred birds in both China and Japan. They are called the “bird of happiness”” “ They also are said to mate for life, which makes them symbols of marital harmony. “
“ Both Pine and Red-crowned Cranes are symbols of long life and good luck. “
Aside from the general symbolism of crane, this one specify about ‘A crane crossed the sky before the glowing red orb’ You know what time is it when sun glows red? Sunset. And well, in Additional Memory lyrics, there’s a mention about “Revolving latern” she saw while ‘crossed the sky’
And the last….
“The text on the red ribbon (also on that for February) reads “akayoroshi”. The word is fairly obscure, but means something along the lines of “obviously good” (some say “red is good”).”
Ahahaha… red is the colour of hero, eh? (*crying on the floor* Jin, you….)
2. February
Kisaragi: changing clothes month
February - Ume 梅 - Plum Blossoms

have YOU read the sleeping realm theory yet?? i did and i lost my mind
Lack of Oracle’s powers in Kingslglaive and this whole nonsense with Ring can be explained by the fact that during production Luna wasn’t Oracle. Moreover, Luna wasn’t Luna. Look at the pictures of early Kingsglaive footage, see something familiar? Say hello to Stella.
Third picture is the game CGI models lined up with the preproduction version of Nyx’s CGI model. Tabata’s team had Stella’s model working on Luminous Studio engine! It wasn’t simple port from Versus build, it’s new model. And for some idiotic reason they decided to cut off existed character with finished model and replace with new one.
Many people noticed major difference between Luna’s personality in game and movie. Now answer is obvious - Kingsglaive’s original script was written with different main heroine. It doesn’t automatically mean that Lunafreya in movie is what Nomura’s Stella (Versus XIII Stella had the same powers as Noctis and could’ve kick Glauca’s ass easily) supposed to be, but she is definitely closer to Stella from Versus trailers than to her FFXV incarnation. She was more morally ambiguous in Kingsglaive, she acted more casual and her fireworks scene with Nyx is recreation of Stella and Noctis first meeting in Versus.
Lunafreya in Kingslglaive was intermediate character between Stella and current Luna.
Perhaps after Tabata get rid of Stella, Kingsglaive team continued to work with some abstract “Princess of Tenebrae” concept. They didn’t give her any powers, because they didn’t know her actual role. According to Roberto Ferrari (lead concept artist) FFXV writers changed plot every 3 months. I would not be surprised if Oracle’s story, Starscourge and Astrals all this nonsensical crap was added into last minutes, because team needed something to replace original Fabula Nova Crystallis mythology.
@anheiressofasoldier here is something for you.
P.S. Anon with Noctis ask, I`ll answer you a bit later (it’s going to be quite big post, which I’m afraid to fail with my awful English).
Don't explore the fact that Daemon lost both his mother and Laena to childbirth and Rhaenyra's premature labor probably triggered him. Don't explore the fact that his parents were very much in love, and his father became a shell of man after he lost the love of his life to childbirth, and Daemon suddenly has to contemplate living the same loss while raising seven children and defending his son's birthright, and he froze because fighting he can do, strategizing, planning attacks and defenses, that he can do. But raising seven children on his own while grieving the love of his life, that he can't even fathom. No, instead have him choke her out of nowhere, that makes sense.
Don't explore the fact that Aemma died in pursuit of a boy, and Rhaenyra's only daughter died before taking her first breath.
Don't show Rhaenyra's reaction to losing her boy, the one who was always attached at her hip, the one who hadn't even learned how to stop holding her hand yet, the one she sent to the closest ally so he wouldn't be gone too long, the one she had just promised she wouldn't abandon to his responsabilities without making sure he learned all he needed to, the one whose death literally started the war.
But a torn up paper from a book nearly two decades ago, from a woman who abused and humiliated her in front of her entire court, who chased her out of her own home, who usurped her throne and her birth right, who's currently conspiring against her, her children, and her husband, that was important to show.
So recently I saw this video post by about the Christian symbolism in FFXV. It was a nice rundown of how the game tries to integrate Christian art, architecture, themes, and stories into the world of Final Fantasy. However, I personally do not agree that this game does a good job of showing the nuance in the struggle of someone tested by faith. It’s too bad this game did not follow in the footsteps of FFX and chose to criticise an established religious hierarchy, because FFXV’s version of Christianity gives me much to criticise. This game uses all the Christian symbolism the video points out while carrying none of the actual messages of Christianity - just like Neon Genesis Evangelion. It’s fake deep. Actually, it’s worse than fake deep. It’s actually anti-Christian sometimes.
I’m not a theologian. I am barely a Christian. But I have some serious reservations about lauding this game for the way it handles religion.
To make it clear, I am not insulting Ikkin’s video post in any way. I linked it because it was really interesting and useful, and you might not understand this meta post without it. (I’m citing my sources, in other words.) All of my criticism is directed at the game itself. Other disclaimer: I’m a fan of the game and I had fun playing it. I have some reservations about posting this because it’s around 6,000 words long and a bit of an off-beat topic, plus I’m pretty salty about it. But it was important to me, as you will see.
