Months ago I posted about my exterreri, Gnasher. I no longer liked Gnasher’s original colors since I’ve gotten better making skins, so I made a new one. I Love It A lot! The multi-colored yellow frills & axe tail most of all!
I used honey-eyed palette to make it if y’all were curious.
This is my first headcanon post of a specific creature, hopefully the start of many. Surprisingly it’s a creature I’ve hardly ever played since it’s released. These & future headcanons are largely inspired by a creature’s design inspiration, abilities, physiology & already existing descriptions. Now here are….
- Xeleviprex prefer living in warm, moist environments with plentiful water. They despise the cold 🥶.
- Adults are highly territorial, but fights between them are rarely life-threatening since they’re immune to others venom.
- They take residence in caves & other dark places both on land & below the water 🌊.
- For those living in habitats that experience harsh winters many may gather in the same cave to hibernate. This & the mating season are the only times they tolerate each other’s presence.
- Mothers are protective of their eggs, but as soon as they start hatching the mothers abandon them. Leaving the hatchlings to fend for themselves.
- Young xeleviprex primary eat plants but as they age they develop a liking & preference for meat. This diet change is believed to have evolved to prevent youngsters from competing with the adults for food🍒.
Let me know what y’all think of these headcanons. I’ll update if I come up with any more ideas.
A melanistic meorlark takes a rest by the pond in Forgotten Shores.
Little creatures of sonaria art go brr
I cannot even begin to tell y’all how much I adore the overhauled Swamp Hill! As soon as I saw cos updated I immediately went to explore as murlk. It’s so much bigger now, especially under the water. The flora takes center stage here with glowing seagrass, mangrove trees, luminous dropping buds & much more.
As night approaches, our melanistic meorlark prepares for a hunt.
While many color-altering mutations in Sonaria would make a fearsome ambush predator like her easy to spot, being melanistic actually works well in her favor. Just look as her black coat blends into the dark waters below.
The warm waters near flower cove are the perfect place for crata peretina to roam about. With food in abundance & warm sun rays shimmering down, life is luxurious. Almost.
At least for Moochie.
Despite having vulnerable skin, his powerful poison & ability to paralyze others means Moochie is largely unbothered by most predators. The bright colors act as a warning & it seems to be a common trait among crata peretina as a whole. His cerata glowing bright yellow & orange do well in warding off threats.
But it also makes him an easy-to-see target for those who are willing to try hunting him.
Turgeons are his greatest enemy.
all the pixel art i’ve made for creatures of sonaria!
Internet connection is treating me very poorly so have to post only on here for now💔
Adding Miju and Morth both was the best decision devs made in the last 5 years
I HAD SO MUCH FUN FOR SOME REASON??? At first when looking at Morthorax design I went 'Eugh that's just a Mij- WAIT IT IS OH MY GOD OH MY GOD' The possibilities, the prosperities(i just want to use this word, no idea what it means, but I just feel it). Like imagine a pack of Mijusuimas and there is just one giant Morth, how badass is this. Like some imposa. Sus. Vent or something. Especially if you have a lot of skin variation inside your pack, like, that's so cool. I am a broke mf'er so I do not have Morthorax so I went to play this saturday as a Miju that I haven't played as since like. The moment Recode came out. I got silently adopted by a full pack of Morthoraxi though, they were so wholesome and accepting of a weird new sibling(me) they have just gotten. <3 Went to look for food and almost died by the way if you are interested in this information too. I decided to not eat the food they had 'cause like, they killed it they eat it too. Also at some point there were a lot of kids in the Mesa, I am not sure at what point someone made a nest but. Kinda fun ngl. My favourite activity was to Zero call at everyone for communication, the noise is so cute and funny.
My drawings always feel so underwhelming. Hope some of you like this one anyway.
Clovilowpers are an extremely rare sight to behold. With their ability to sprout new plant life wherever they go, any ecosystem benefits with their presence. In myths & tales it’s said that finding even one of them binds your fate to good luck for a lifetime.
So how much luck do you think is gained for sighting a glimmer clovilowper?
