I'm a big fan of this fanfic and I enjoy reading it every time. And in this chapter... I especially liked the idea that JD gets along very well with animals (the scene with Barnabas was so cute, I couldn't help but draw it ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ). From now on, this is canon for me!))

In the future, I would really like to draw even more fan art for this fanfic, if of course the author doesn't mind and I have enough time...)

Quick question, if you were to do an ages reversed Au with the brothers (Branches as eldest, JD youngest, ect), what do you think would change about the story, just off the top of your head?

Ooooo this is tricky, ok uh… (Edit: I based this off of Great Decisions btw, I’m sorry, I didn’t read closely enough😖)

Branch - I think he would be a bit of an overbearing older brother. Not in JD’s perfectionistic way, but more like being in everyone’s business. He definitely has a schedule on each of them regarding their activities. He doesn’t want them to be perfect, but he expects them to listen, and is a bit self centered sometimes. Likely, Branch wouldn’t have left the tree. And unlike John Dory, he despises their father for what he did, and is similar to Grandma Rosiepuff in that sense where he refuses to talk about it. Also unlike JD, he did not drop out of school, Grandma Rosiepuff would be a lot more willing to help in this situation.

Floyd - It was Floyd’s idea to start BroZone to help his brother out (Branch was doing a bunch of jobs and wasn’t home too much). When the perfect family harmony fell apart, he was mortified, thinking he ruined everything, and ran. He had no idea Spruce followed after him.

Clay - His storyline’s about the same. He and Branch argued over many things, but more so life stuff vs band stuff, and when Floyd and Spruce disappeared, he left to live with King Peppy. He went missing in the tunnels running back to find his brothers…

Spruce - Spruce took the role of a mediator in this timeline. Floyd was really stressed all the time, so Spruce would typically step in and use his baby brother privilege to get Branch and Clay to stop arguing. He was always very good with baby JD. When he saw Floyd taking off, he followed him. But by the time he convince his brother to come back, it was too late, and they were lost.

JD - He had much more support growing up. Branch figured out he was dyslexic pretty quick, and helped him with learning to read. A bit of his perfectionism showed through, but it wasnt much till he got older. He was the one who Grandma Rosiepuff sacrificed herself to save, and after that happened, he took off. And Branch went after him. When they returned, they saw the decimated tree and collapsed tunnels, and despite his investigations, Branch figured the trolls were gone.

Instead of going to the Neverglade, they just lived in the woods, Branch just taking them as far as he could from Bergentown, his paranoia starting. They never found Rhonda. Because Branch is a bit more cautious, he did not gather that many injuries. And they likely found Troll Village sooner.

Branch was also able to pick up on the early warning signs of JD’s mental health problems.

OMG CHAPTER 100!!! How does it feel knowing you’ve been writing this fanfiction for almost a whole year? Did you plan the entire story out or do you just flow with it? Mix of both?

This isn’t to do with the fanfic but do you listen to the crane wives? If so what’s your favorite song?

Great question! I pretty much have the big plot points all planned out, a few of them since the very beginning! Buuuuut it’s all about connecting them! Usually each chapter I have about 2-3 things I need to write/talk about, and sometimes they take me in completely dif directions while writing! But it’s kinda cool when the story just tells ya where to go!

But yes, much of this story was planned before I even started writing! For example, the last fight scene has been in my notes since before chapter one!!!

Oooo I haven’t listened to them, but I’ll have to check them out!

“Something black hidden under Hickory’s ginger hair,” huh? I know in your story, you said Hickory’s a Centaur, but could it be possible that he and his brother are still the Yodelers? 😏

Or… Has Yodeler blood! Our dear Hickory is half and half, so he’s got traits from both genres! As for the black in his hair… 😈 Perhaps his Yodeler traits showing through!

Don’t know why but I have the feeling that barb just made the biggest mistake turning jd into a rock zombie. Wouldn’t be surprised if he attacked her the moment she tried to hurt branch/ poppy.

Oof, yeah, Barb may defo be second-guessing her choices…

Luckily for Barb, she’s not the kind of person who would ever DIRECTLY try and hurt someone. So hopefully she’ll be safe from JD’s wrath, especially since the poor man is under so much mental strain. He doesn’t want to attack anyone, but I wouldn’t put it past him lashing out at the very minimum!

How would you rank the Trolls villains? Is one easier to write than others?

Oooo I really don’t know how to rank them? Danger levels? Evil levels?! IDK! I’m sorry, I really don’t know how to rank them, but I will say what I like about each one!

Creek was really fun to write, because I was given a chance to build up his character from a young age! Early teasings of him being an actual psychopath, building the mystery, the works! And Chef was just brutal, so writing the violence of her, mixed in with Creek was just MWAH! Satisfying to my twisted little soul.

But Barb was also just a fun character to write, I loved that I got to hype her up to be this merciless villain… Just for her to not be like that at all. I really liked her struggle, the different pov she had, and the very real conflict! And I love writing her lines, she has some really good ones!

As for Velvet and Veneer… I’m am VERY excited to show you all my plans for them! They are going to be fun villains for sure😈

Honestly I think one of the best things about your writing is how you do tend to force jd to suffer through the worst kind of torture. Actually having to talk through his emotions.

Like in my head I have this fun little idea of some secret potion being used and it showing his brothers what jd sees and thinks (in kinda like a body swap way). And boom someone sees what he sees and is like ‘uh jd wtf’

But I am very excited to see how he’s going to have to talk about it! It’s going to be agonizing for him and I can only hope he figures out the right words to do it.

Ahhhh right?! Like give this man the WORST mental torture, but the hardest thing is making him ACTUALLY talk about it!

Ooooo and I do like your idea! Something like that, or maybe like a Truth Serum Cloudguy sneaks into his drink, and he just starts spewing out a bunch of feelings he’s kept on lock for 20 years?! I love it, give me fourteen of them right now!!!

But I’m so glad you’re liking the story! It’ll defo be agonizing for him, so I wonder to what point he’ll have to be pushed to actually start talking about his feelings?! Ooooooo
