Okay, But I Can't Stop Thinking About What Would've Happened If Sam Had Actually Gone Back To University

Okay, but I can't stop thinking about what would've happened if Sam had actually gone back to university and Dean went on to hunt by himself. I mean, many things would've happened differently, but imagine some things happened exactly the same. Sam, after a few years, calling Dean to invite him to his graduation and Dean shows up with a weird guy in a trenchcoat who is supposed to be an angel. Dean checking in on Sam every few months until he doesn't. Sam even calls him, but Dean never picks up until months later he shows up out of nowhere saying "sorry I didn't pick up the phone, I was in hell :D" and Sam just being so confused. Or Sam running into other hunters on a grocery run and hearing them whisper among themselves "did you hear? THE Dean Winchester handled that wolf pack all by himself" and Sam just freaking out and asking them frantically if Dean was alright. Just Sam living the life he wanted and Dean living the life he was always supposed to live and Sam hearing the utmost crazy stories from and about his brother

Okay, so I have this idea. Like, do you remember when we first saw castiels hand print on deans arm. It is the left arm. Every time dean gets upset or hurt or loses his mind, Cas always grabs him on the left arm. The arm with the hand print. So my idea was, what if Cas does this to remind dean that he will always be there from him, no matter what he’s going through. Wether it’s his own personal hell, or just a damn dark place. Cas just wants dean to know that he is not alone and that he will never be alone again, cause Cas is there. He’s always been there. And if he has to, he will grip dean tight and raise him from that dark spot, just like he raised him from hell.
