Ever since I watched Captain Marvel I’ve had a conspiracy theory that isn’t completely far fetched. My theory is that all cats on Earth are actually flerkins, they’re just staying on the down-low because they enjoy feeling like the little gods we treat them as. If you think about it, the green, Aussie alien dude (who’s name I forget) didn’t know what a cat was, that implies that all flerkins look like cats so for all we know all the cats on earth could be flerkins.
He's done :)
I'll never be able to get a picture as good as that first one (I tried)
Goosewyrm progress is going smoothly. He must have wings

the snagkose is quite a wide-ranged fellow. this avians back-area is flat so the neck of it can curl up comfortably. the snagkose can be found all around the planet exept in cold climates. though they are rarely found in mountains. there are plenty of ways the snagkose hunts but the most common way is by ambush, either waiting in trees, water or burrows. a lot of breeds have been made out of the snagkose since they can be great pets. the hooded snagkose is the most popular by far, having a hood made of feathers that can expand and contract.
GOOSESTARION! honk honk

@kittodekiru challenged me a while back to create a character based on this little gosling. Decided to throw in a sweater-donning crested runner duck based on a video in the same thread. Say hello to Sweater Mom and her cowboy-obsessed foster gosling.
there will never be another headline that comes close to comparing with this
I present!

In germany, it's actually 'The feather is mightier than the sword', not the pen. It's said that this comes from people writing with quills back in the day. But. We know the truth.
visited a botanical garden yesterday and found a hoard of goosamus and felt this needed to be drawn
hope this captures the AU accurately @originalartblog :]
Sometimes you go out and find a bird, and other times the bird finds you. What with it still being February, I've been mostly birding at places with open water. (I'm always looking for opportunities to spot some waterfowl that I haven't yet seen this year.) And because it's February in Wisconsin, the open water tends to be near springs or the rivers connecting the various lakes. One such place is a stretch of the Yarhara River between Lake Waubesa and Mud Lake in McFarland, WI. I was just walking out of the parking lot at Babcock County Park, checking out the Canada Geese and various ducks, when this creature just strolled out from behind a tree.
[ID: A Greylag Goose stands in the snow near a river. The Goose is shown in profile looking to the right. It is mostly grey with bright orange bill and feet. The eye is dark brown with a thin orange ring around it. Folded wings become gradually darker grey as they extend back into primary flight feathers, with bright white tail coverts underneath. End ID]
Being only about 30 feet away, I knew immediately that this was one of the Greylag Geese that have been reported in the area recently. There was no mistaking that bright orange bill and distinctive honk. You know, the honk you hear in your head when someone tells you to picture a farm goose. It really is just like that, and for good reason. I knew basically nothing about the Greylag Goose except that it's classified as an escaped exotic species in the United States, but I've since read that this species is the ancestor of basically all breeds of domestic goose. It's native to Europe and Asia and was brought here to North America as a domestic. So yeah, farm goose honk.
[ID: A Greylag Goose walks in the snow near a river. The Goose is honking loudly, showing off the shaggy grey feathers on their neck. A pair of Canada Geese stand in the background. End ID]
Beside being much easier to identify, I also appreciate large, stationary birds for being easier to photograph. The Greylag and their Canada pals decided to wander over to forage right at the edge of the parking lot, allowing me to creep up behind my car and fill the frame with big grey goose. I had a nice long opportunity to watch the geese graze in the park before a pair of bulldogs and their owner came by and scared the whole flock into the sky.
[ID: A Greylag Goose forages in the exposed grass near a large tree. The Goose bends down to pick at the grass at the edge of the snow. It has bits of grass stuck to its bill, which is open and showing tiny serrated edges. A Canada Goose is standing just out of focus in the background. End ID]

It was a goose who sadly cried, "Alas! Alas! The farm is wide, And large the barnyard company, But no one ever looks at me; There really seems to be no use, Or praise, or glory, for a goose.
They pet the dog whose bark and bite Scare tramps by day and thieves by night; But when I bravely stand on guard, And drive intruders from the yard, They laugh at me. The kitten plays, And all admire her cunning ways; But when I venture in the room, To play, in turn, some stick or broom Soon drives me out. Those birds they call Canaries cannot sing at all In my sweet fashion; yet their lay Is praised—from mine folks turn away. They prize the horse who pulls the cart; But when I try to do my part, And mount the shafts to help him draw,
They whip me off. Last week I saw Two stupid horses pull a plow, I watched the work, I learned just how; Then, with my bill, I did the same In flower-beds, and got only blame. It really seems of little use To try to help—when one's a goose!"
I’m going to watch Avengers Endgame tomorrow and I swear to god if they don't use Goose. In any battle he could help out.

one of the most interesting ( and sad ) true crime cases i've read about was that of Andy , the footless goose . Andy was born in the late 80s in Nebraska and died in '91 , killed in a murder .
Andy was born without feet and had gone through several different attempts to give him mobility , including "a skateboard-like prosthesis" . none worked . Andy's owner then "fitted [him] with [special] baby-sized shoes" , which gave Andy the mobility of a typical goose .
Andy became a role-model for disabled kids ( since his shoes allowed him to walk , swim and fly with the efficiency of a typical goose ) .
Andy's story is a sad one , ending with him being found dead in a local park , dismembered . the local government stated that they had found the perpetrator but opted to not reveal their identity .
