I wanted to draw characters from Wild Manes for some time now, but I never really got any inspiration. That is until I found Lana, I mean look at her, the colors, the design, donuts!? There's no way I could not draw her. Plus Joe, he's cool.

I did these few month ago when I was trying to experiment a bit with my line art…I can imagine this being some sort of a au where Luna is the older sister and they aren’t princesses or maybe they are they just don’t have wings or something. I didn’t get that far.

In case you’re having a rough Thanksgiving here’s a really shitty drawing I made on some random art program I found on Safari. I haven’t drawn mlp fanart since I was like 5 so I’m still trying to figure it out 💀
The one and only King Thorax of the Changelings! You have no idea how hard the obsession with him went when I was a kid… The Times they are a Changeling was my all-time favorite episode so I literally sketched out of the scenes in my notebook with little squiggly lines instead of dialogue (a few photos from said notebook under cut in case you don’t believe me)
Even as a kid I would always draw Thorax with heart-shaped glimmers in his eyes. I don’t really know why. For some reason it changed from blue pen to pencil after Thorax revealed he was a Changeling and ran away 🤔
I also sucked at art back then if you couldn’t tell. Sometimes I look at my old stuff and feel so proud of how far I’ve come. These drawings are from over a decade ago but even the difference between my art today and my art a year ago is crazy. Never give up because improvement will always catch up to you 🫶
Here is my combined fandoms au thingy…? My first real fandom that I interacted with I believe was My Little Pony. Currently I’m hyerfocused on Warrior cats!

UPDATE!
Volume 2 is still in the works despite the lack of art sneak peeks and updates. While it will be another art-centric zine, there will be some changes after it is released. I never planned to organize a volume 3 but I see the potential for something that could benefit this age of the MLP fandom.
Changing
We as a fandom are slowly moving away from (let's be honest) the very problematic brony scene of the 2010s. I believe most of the MLP artists and fans online posting today witnessed this era, not as an adult, but as a primary/middle schooler. We can all agree that that era was...weird. Full of gore, unwarranted sexualization, and whatever was going on on 4chan. To get to the point: I really want to encourage this much friendlier atmosphere we currently have by shedding light on these amazing creators and discouraging giving the elitist and toxic fans a soapbox.
This is a VERY big goal I admit but I really love this fandom, even more than the actual show itself (woof).

Here is where I ask for your help. This is admittedly a very fresh fantasy of mine. It is impossible to change an entire online space, there will always be bad people regardless of age or background. My idea was to use Fanzines R Magic as a "beginners guide" platform for new fans or people looking for creators to support. Sort of like a giant organized link tree for creators and projects.
"Why don't we just stick to our small communities and pick who we interact with ourselves?" you might be asking. My goal isn't for you to change who you support or who you want to interact with. Naturally, that is all up to you. Many people have good judgment and understand their limits (blocking people they don't want to interact with or content they don't want to get involved with). I really just want to give people a chance to find a community with creators that have good intentions as a starting off point for new or younger fans. Searching for MLP artists for example would be made easier without constantly bumping into repost accounts or fetish art. Not to mention that smaller artists are virtually invisible on platforms like Twitter or Instagram. Many people have commented or DMd me saying how they had no idea Fanzines R Magic was happening or that collaborative art zines were a thing. This "link tree" would feature projects, start-ups, etc that they could discover and join.
This is just one idea though, this sort of huge project needs some brainstorming. If you are interested in what I'm throwing out here, want to suggest an alternative, or be a part of this project please send an "ask", a dm, reach me @_regenko_ (Instagram), or write @ fanzinesrmagic@gmail.com. Any passionate fans are welcome not just artists.
