Season of Advent♥
I'm already in such a cozy winter mood! Where inside at dusk you sit in the warm light of the lamp in the old armchair and comfortably cuddled up in a cozy blanket, drink a hot tea or punch and read a thick book. Sometimes you look out of the window next to your Armchair into the thick snow that is outside on the windowsill and in the garden and watch how the dark blue sky gets darker and darker. Then a small blackbird or blue tit run across the snow and leave small tracks in it. And you cuddle up in your warm cozy blanket, sip your delicious tea and bury your nose again in the many letters of the book and immerse back into the story. The only sounds you hear are the soft crackling of the fire in the little carmine and the purring of your cat, who has curled up comfortably on your lap and is enjoying the pre-Christmas mood and silence as much as you do. Advent romance. I live in a very old (founded 1230) and small ( ca 6600 residents) town ( securitized city rights). We have a castle and several very old houses. There is a railway station and a highway. In December the houses in the old town have little lights at there roofs. This house always looks nice and cozy with the lightened showroom and windows in the dark. Nativity Scene
I'm finally ready for Advent season tomorrow with my new Nativity scene. My grandfather built his own Nativity scene for under the Christmas tree, as is most common in Quebecois and Acadian Christian homes. The baby Jesus of course doesn't make it to this set until Christmas Day, but I wanted to show off my hard work at transforming these figures and box from Dollarama into something unique and spectacular. On the cover of the box, I painted a landscape from the Magdalen Islands, where my Acadian ancestors lived. A happy Advent to all my fellow Christians, witches and believers of all denominations celebrating this holy time.
Nativity Scene progress
I'm painting my Nativity scene figurines and scenery for Advent this year. It'll be a quiet Christmas season here, on account of my top surgery. Here are the Three Magi for now :) the figures are from Dollarama, and they needed some serious personality and color!
